OMAN INVESTMENT CORPORATION
    Oman Investment Corporation (OIC) is a private equity investment company whose principal activities include identifying, evaluating and executing productive investments in viable projects within the Sultanate of Oman. OIC’s shareholders are Gulf Investment Corporation (50%), the Government of Oman (10%), National Investment Funds Company (35%), and BankMuscat (5%).



“Private equity” is a generic term that covers investments largely in unlisted companies at various stages of their development. It is used to describe investments ranging from start-up capital to later stage development capital to management buy-outs and buy-ins. Private equity investment is frequently in the form of direct equity but may include a combination of equity and debt. The major portion of the investment return is usually realized when the company or business is sold or listed or stock on a stock exchange.

VISION STATEMENT
    To nurture, develop and invest in the equity of start-up projects and promising existing companies that have fundamentally sound business concepts. OIC shall focus principally on investing in Oman.
